How can I change my default browser from one to another?

I have S.B.C. Yahoo browser and of course Internet Explorer. My Yahoo browser quits responding when I try to click a link In it, so I use the internet explorer most. The Yahoo browser is the one that comes up when I play MMORPG's. How can I change My default Browser so that it autimatically uses the Internet Explorer?How can I change my default browser from one to another?

1. Open Internet Explorer

2. Click Tools --%26gt; Internet Options

3. Go to Programs tab

4. On the bottom, check the check box where it says ';Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser';

5. Click OK



You can also get to the Internet Options through your Control Panel.
Gasp! Stay away from the evil IE - too many hackers are out there wasting their day trying to bring it down, so why give yourself the self-induced hassle of having to deal with it?

Installing another browser such as Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox, etc. normally will give you an option during the install to make it your default browser. If you happen to miss it, then typically you can set it in that browsers preferences/options configuration utility. If you can't find it there, you could always go into your registry and set it manually - but don't mess up the registry in the process.
Open your Control Panel, and from there open 'Internet Options'... When you get the 'Internet Properties', select the 'Programs' tab... At the botton there should be a little check box that says, 'Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser'... If this box is not checked, do so, click on 'Apply', then close this window (click on 'OK')...



Should this work, next time you launch Internet Explorer, you should get a small window indicating that Explorer is currently not the default browser, and it will ask you if you wish to make it the default browser... Select 'Yes'...

When you click on them, under the details below you will see a line ';opens with... Internet explorer... '; Click the CHANGE button to the right and select the new application to use from the list... (If you have a new browser installed it will be here... ) Else, click browse, and navigate to c:\program files\.... Here you will see a folder with the browser you have installed. find the exe file for it and select it...



Once you have changed it... you will now use the new browser as your default...
